Question

Wanted a companion for Blueblack Ranger. BBR was quite happy with the 6 guppies I took from the temple.

However, I bought White Ranger from SV again. $3.80 from the "couldn't be bothered" section.

WR was good with BBR. They don't really bother each other. But WR fought with the Guppies and took a chunk off one of the smaller ones.

Guppies are going back to the temple pond soon.

Didn't want any casualties.

NOW WR and BBR are together as companions.

WR was in the Female betta section. Turns out that "she" has a beard. Therefore, it's a man. Prob a youngster or a runt. Don't know what's going to happen...

Also when WR wanted to nip the other guppies, BBR came in to deliver a stern warning.

With the guppies away , I hope BBR not lonely...

Now the arrangement is BBR top and WR bottom.

One matured lady and one young punk.

Apparently, WR wasn't very friendly later on. Kept on nipping on BBR. So I isolated them for a bit.

Do you think courtship is possible like that? Or is it warfare?

More pictures of WR after I arm myself with my DSLR

Hi TS, your post sounds like a story; I think I can share with my kids.

Nice setup.

And so Blueblack Ranger went back to her own tank and she wasn't really happy at first.

It took a while to get her to settle down.

Next, It was feeding time and here are some shots of her!

Still tuned for some new photographs. Apparently I am still looking forward to a bigger tank and some aquascaping done

Apparently, Arofanatics needed me to post 10 posts before I can add in pictures from other websites. This is post 10! My update is coming next!

And so after a few weeks of Hiatus, I have finally attained temporary freedom.

Here's a shot of Blueblack ranger. She seems to be happy and putting on some weight!

I kind of feel that she's a hybrid between your typical aquarium betta and some wild betta.

Also, I have also housed White Ranger in a new Gex Tank. This is an all-in-one set from Gex. I bought black river gravel (small) and river pebbles with it.

And here's a shot at his new home.

Apparently both Blueblack and White seems to have undergone some colour changes.

White seems to have more iridescence / metallic turquoise on his body and blueblack seems to be more metallic blue at the head and some parts of her body/fins.

Here's another picture of his today after his weekly waterchange!

So today I went to Seaview to look for a new tank.

I wanted a Gex Glass tank. In the end, I only bought gravel and pebbles. My friend bought the Tank instead.

And so, I proceeded to add in the new gravel, pebble and driftwood into Blue Black ranger's tank.
