Kopi Guu Yuu
Been in love with this old style kopitiam since being recommended by a brother in June.
Oldest barista in Singapore, 83 years old kopikia. Old charcoal burner for brewing drinks and toasting bread. Grandpa Chinese bread cut with precision by themselves, not sliced modern bread. Heap Seng Leong 10 N Bridge Rd, #01-5109, Singapore 190010 6292 2368 https://goo.gl/maps/aei1SUAm8SR2 Best toast I can find in Singapore and Malaysia. Butter coffee. Kopi Guu Yuu Perfect steamed bread. Fluffy soft pillows. Kopi O ice ball (Sng Kiu Kopi O) Off menu item, DIY.

This is the old old outlook kopitiam.
Kelantan Road also have one.. run by a hainanese auntie, same style.. charcoal warmed kopi and tea. roti use the charcoal to toast also. Too bad closed last month due to old age and sold the shop house away. The closure was also featured in newspaper. |

Hup Lee at Veerasamy/Jln Besar pedestrian crossing lights. Here are the photos I took in their last week of biz. Their last day I saw the family gathering at night behind their closed collapsible metal gate. Regret not stopping car and taking photos. That would have been a poignant historical photo. https://flic.kr/s/aHsm1jFWiq
