thanks friends

guess i got cheated, bought it from a LFS in yishun not aquastar..
so conclude the ribbon male can only be used for viewing...

the female can go with another male ,

btw found out that my guppies have dropped some 20 fries, but its not any pure strain, just normal $1 each ones, still happy..

Btw , the fish in yr gallery is a Blue Neon. The female ribbon may been hit by a fertile male previously otherwise you wld not have fries. Each female when hit by the male can store sperms from that particular male for at least 3 spawns. This is a pretty fish but is just a very common fish that cannot be classified as exotic guppies or fancy guppies. It is good mainly because the female is a ribbon.

Another thing to note is that most lfs owners are as blurred as a sotong with regards to guppies even though they sell guppies that is the reason why sometime we cannot say that they cheated you as they are totally ignorant when asked.

Hi H-lizard! Never mind we all learn. In 1999, I bought 10 ribbon males and happy like mynah! Went to hunt for females thereafter and u shld know the rest of story is same as yours.

The tails look like the 'fantail' form types, where the caudal can open widely liek some bettas but are round instead of the preferred Triangle shape. U can see the male having 8-ray split in the tail rays[middle portion]. These shld be breed in Thailand, on large scaes.

Maybe u shld quickly go back to same shop n see if u can find smae colour males [same batch] with normal finnage and a short thing instead of a long one.

Now u know why I cant stand ribbons/swallows
