sherman is correct
2mp is more then enough for 8r or A4 size printing
35mm 28mm is the wideness of the lense... the wider, the more things you can take 35mm 4x zoom means 140mm... at 140mm, you can take less things cos you ZOOM in already... 140mm is like a magnifying glass, can make things bigger, but see less things 35 is like normal size, things are small but can see more 28mm is even smaller things, and much more things imagine you wanna take picture of 10 people... 28mm can take all 10 people, 35mm got to ask them to stand two rows and front roll squat, 140mm cannot take 10people, but can take two people only... |

I would recommend this rather unknown DC - The Ricoh Caplio R3. It has 1cm macro mode, 7.1X optical zoom, very fast recovery time(between shorts) and negligible shutter lag which is very important for taking pict of moving targets like fishes. It also has a very reliable anti-shake or shake-compensation mechanism. I waited 2 long months for this camera(stock was delayed) but have absolutely no regrets for the wait.....
Also if you have time, you should try out as many models as possible...playing with the cameras will tell a million times more than from reading their specs..You can try out as many cameras as you want at MS Colour foto in AMK...Friendly and knowledgeable staff(ask for mrs Loh or Karen or Willie) will answer all your questions. Cheers. |

Some advice
Hi all,
I am looking through some specs. Would like to have advice from u guys how the following can affect a picture: I am comparing Ricoh Caplio GX vs Canon PowerShot A530. 1. Aperture "F2.5 - F4.3" vs "F3.3 - F4.8". Is a bigger aperture F2.5 good for taking aquarium pics cos they are usually dark so a lareger aperture allow u to have quick shutter speed to capture for fast moving fishes? 2. Zoom wide (W) "26 mm" vs "35mm". A 26mm would give wider angle. Does wide angle means you can stand closer to your fish and have the entire length of your fish in there? like macro mode? 4. Finally any advice on which one to get? and where to get a good deal? More inclined towards the Ricoh because of the wide angle 26mm, and large aperture F2.5. Thanks.
