i have many questions about goldfish.
what is the difference between lionhead and ranchu.
also what size do they grow to?
how about bullhead and oranda?

The difference is lionhead has a large head and shorter body. ranchu's head is smaller and has less "growths" on it. What they look for is a uniformly curved and smooth back. maybe look at some photos, might give you a better idea.

size varies , probably ~7" if you are lucky

bullhead and oranda -- not sure about bullhead.

male's pectoral fins have small white tubercles on them.

The colours depends on your liking.

about the same. small lionheads( <3") might be harder to keep compared to the other types.
If your air pumps fails abruptly and for a long period, lionheads might perish. same for the other types.

Don't go into hasty buying. Get some books with good picture reference. The book Goldfish from Hong Kong has excellent picture illustration of the different varieties of goldfish.

Make sure you have a big tank for goldfish and quarantine new fish for one month.
