Bro, managed to find the cause and treatment of chipped scales. as follows.
Scales seem to be melting away, resulting in a crooked appearence. Tiny holes along the lateral line gets larger as each day goes by. At its final stage, skin around the head region also starts to rot. Chinese salt treatment 0.3% salt , raise temperature to 33. Change water regulary to ensure good water quality. The fish would recover in 1~2 months time. Or you can add salt 0.1% with BeFURAN. Fish should recover within 2 weeks But the chipped scale will not grow back. You can try surgically to remove the chiped scale if beauty of the fish is of utmost importance to you. |

WC is done 25% every Monday & Friday (twice per week) PH around 7.4... All other fish in tank no issue... Just this one.

Looks like genetic deformities and further affected by environment conditions.
Narrow tank leading to tight turns that increase friction between scales leading to chip or cracks on edges, or even bullying by more dominating individuals causing violent maneuvering to avoid confrontation. Jus my 2 cents |

I believe for the width of the tank. I ever experience chip scale, normally is the front/top part. I would pluck out the scale, add salt and wc regiment.
Just my 2 cents. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |
