Default Breeding Giants

Breeding Giants

First of all did not think that i would be breeding giants until a good friend of mine passed me a pair last week.
Few days ago they went into the breeding tank and today the eggs hatched.
Not many fry but still will raise them to see the percentage turn out to be giants.
Currently, the male in about 3 inches and female 2.25 inches. (full length)
This is quite a long project so only able to tell in the next 4-6 months.
Anyway, for those who are curious, the eggs and fry size looks more or less the same as normal sized betta's fry.
Enjoy the pictures
Its a Mustard Gas Pair.

This picture of the female is taken this morning, 2 days after breeding. Finnage heals very fast as seen in this picture, just minor torn fins. Male is a gentle giant

Thanks for all comments.
What i noticed for giant is that their bubbles tend to be bigger and hence burst easily. On the first day of conditioning in the breeding tank, the male made a nice bubble nest. However, on the second day, most of the bubbles burst leaving remains of bubbles floating around.
I decided to take bubbles from other bettas and add them to his bubbles to strengthen the bubble nest.
Maybe those who plan to breed giants may want to take note of this.
Cheers!

Great sharing. Another thing is that you might want to keep your water level low about 3 inches in height as I heard from giant breeders that the giant have this issue of picking up the eggs on the bottom of the tank due to the the mouth lips pointing abit towards up.
