Default Problem with greenwater

it has been raining almost every day of late - and my pond was afflicted with green water just suddenly - this is a mature pond and i am surprised at this. when i checked my filter, i realized that my coral chips has almost eroded. am wondering if this may be the cause and how i can rid myself of this greenwater. appreciate views, and solutions. thank you

Just install a UV light and wait for a week or two for the water to be clear.

Your coral chips mean it is time to add new coral chips or oyster shell. Is your filter only use coral chips as filter material. If it is, then you need to either replace the coral chips or buy new Jap matts to put them into the filter chamber.

If your pond gets direct sunlight, this can be a major cause as well.

UV light is a good idea.
Else there are also additives to clear green water.

4-5 years, think it's time to change your medias.

Did you add new fishes into your pond recently?

If so, it can mean the filter might need time to get use to the increase in new bio load or the filteration system are not able to cope with the increase in bio load. IMHO.

Have you been cleaning your filter recently? Something tells me you've a drop in bb activities in your filter or an increased in bio load. Just adding my 2 cents from experience.
