pour out all the bioballs and mix the deniballs to the bioballs and restarted system. was expecting at least a couple of days but was glad to see the ORP value at -150mV 12hrs later. initial value at 380mV.

injected 5ml sugar solution last night after noticing value more or less maintaining at -120mV. notice the denitrator cutting in and out every 20mins or so today. measured the output and nitrate at 0mg/l.

guess i can finally stop 'feeding' the anerobes and let the deniballs do that chore.

last measured nitrate level at slightly over 75mg/l. let's see how it turns out.
I thought you are going to wait for the latest model?

haha.. is it bigger?

of course can wait, just do maintenance for the time being. can reuse the bioballs too right? at least start up time is much lesser.

i was beginning to suspect sugar might be playing a fool on the probe lately thus the inclusion of deniballs were great.

the ORP probe was also covered with sludge, think need to do maintenance on it more often.

Yes, it will kick start very fast. Mine is within 2 days.

Maybe can try volka the next time round. As for the probe, the pin head sensor is always a problem and also it is from pin-point. Dome head is the best but the price.......

You're wrong Bro Atom as I am a Deltec Supporter using Deltec AP 701, PF 600, FR 509 and initially using Deltec Sulphur Nitrate Filter but sold it.

The only thorn among the roses is the Schuran Nitrate Filter.

The first generation doesn't have a ORP probe provison after getting sick of the coil type which needed constant feeding....

This was five years ago.
