I am not a great fan into breeding.. but it will be interesting to cross Xenotilapia flavipinnis with Xenotilapia sp. papilio. |

Red princess upadate!
As promised, shots of my red princesses, only the dominant male is showing some colouration, the rest are still faint and cannot be captured.
Enjoy! |

Love the color development.
They seem pretty mild mannered and swim in group. is it true ? Xenotilapia flavipinnis tends to be on the aggressive side. btw, what filtration system do you run for that tank ? also, the sand seem pretty think. any issue ? breeding ?? They can survival under my care I happy liao. |

yup nigrolabiata is very very docile, only abit of chasing here and there, flavipinnis and papilios are very aggressive, hence its not good to put both types together as the nigros will get bullied.
filtration is a 2028 and a fluval 4 plus, tanks is a 4 x 1.5 x 2, but is partitioned. Sand isnt that thick, about an 1inch i think, haha.. havent had any problems |

on the sand part, as long as no major stirring I think still ok. I was taught to place UGF on standby if plan to go for thick gravel. i.e. anything more that 3/4 in of fine gravel/sand.

Heard that you plan to start xeno tank as well. |
