Alternatively you could place the 3d background outside back of the tank. You could hang or silicon it outside. This has the pro and con....the pro is easy to clean the algae on the glass and it doesn't take out the space inside the tank, easy to remove and install. The con side is the 3d effect might not as "real" as place inside unless the glass is clean

Thanks for the suggestion. Would prefer the background inside. Managed to fix them for the main background, only left the overflow partition piece which is at 45deg to back which is more tricky.

Understand your concern and its really tricky... even if its fixed. it might affect the over and underflow.... with the additional column created by the background. Maybe you can call Aqua Empire and they have a contractor called Mr Lim he is a man packed with aquascaping experience including 3D background all the ones in Aqua Empire are fixed up by him.

After months of inactivity, finally get to resume action on Good Friday and finish up the last bit on the background on the overflow... After much sawing, gluing and more sawing and gluing of the background. Finally complete the whole background.

Can start filling up water

Cutting the slots for the overflow and underflow is pure hardworking....

After water filling.

Now cycling tank and sump...
Hope that tank can be cycled soon.

In the meantime, look for suitable wood. Managed to choose some at GC. Hope it will turn out natural in the tank.

Can't wait to transfer the Altums to the tank once it is cycled. Maybe can add some wild discus to the set up.... Hope to source some suitable tank mates...

Thanks... I also can't wait to put in the fishes currently in my other tank that is already super crowded... Just check water last night, still undergoing cycling. Nitrite level not 0 yet. Got to control and be patient.

Thanks. Manage to put in the wood yesterday. Still not satisfied with the arrangement... Need to play around the orientation, hoping to get a arrangement that looks more natural...

Some of the occupants waiting for "TOP" for the new lodging... Hopefully tank can be cycled by this weekend, then can test with some small fishes and release the altums gradually into the tank....

Am considering what lighting to use? Currently having 4ft T5 lights, thinking of changing to LED for better effect.

Any suggestions whether putting 4 ft LED or 2x2ft LED or 2 LED spotlights would be better value for money and better lighting effect for the tank? Thanks

If you ask me i would say LED spotlight & you can install 3 of it for a 4 footer. It will compliment your background very nicely
