Default Horny Discus...lousy parents

I have this pair of discus which has been spawning without fail every single week. But they just do not take care of their fries eventhough they have reached free swimming stage.

At this moment, they have just laid another batch of eggs, while there are some fries swimming around the tank from the previous spawn.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong?

I think it's will take a while.

Just sharing:
I have this male fish(biggest piece among all siblings), which ate at least 6 batches of eggs without fertilizing....But I still keep faith and finally he did it....

You have to be patient breeding discus. If i were you, i would wash away the eggs and let them concentrate on the free swimmers.

don think it will help , some parent fish refuse to take care of their fry due to very small spawn , try to cover the egg and get a bigger spawn and hope the pair to take care of it

This is very new to me. Learn something new. "Some discus parents see small spawn don't take care?"

You mean the parental instinct of discus depends on the spawn size ah?

i not sure ,ask those expert here , but i do have experience with a pair only take care their fry when the the spawn is big , if spawn is small like below 10 fry , they eat back the fry and lay egg again

For Discus and Angel, when the eggs hatch into fries. Do they still need the discus/angel parents to be around to take care and feed them? could we put the fries in a small tanks and feed them ourselves?

Bro, you may use foster parenting or artifical raising method
