Default Water condition for new FGT

Hi Bros

I have cycled about a month for 4x3x3 fgt . WC weekly about 2 pails with seachem safe. I am using the 5ml spoon that kid use for their medicine solution, just a small bit for the 2 pail of WC. During WC adds seachem stability about 4 caps. No fish yet.

Till today, the water is still very clear. Is this normal? I thought it suppose to be cloudy and turn clear then it is fully cycle.

Pls advise

did you introduce any ammonia? adding mp will be good to test your FGT. Make sure you have a test kit to take note of the ammonia and NO2 and NO3

This. What's your BB feeding on if there's nothing in the tank?

Hi canopy/Oneiromancer

thank for the advise.

canopy - what is mp? I only have the ph test strip at this time

I need some fishes to start off right? Can I just add some fish food to create food for the BB?

Mp is market prawns. You can throw in marek prawns and when they rot they release ammonia. Ammonia is key when cycling tank. Your bb needs to eat and they will be eating ammonia. What I do is.. Since we are unable to get pure ammonium, I add ammonium bicarbonate from bakery shop, clean and easy to use.

You can throw in some fish food or some fishes and feed them etc. Throw some feeders.

Not very sure I put long long time ago.. Put then test with ammonia test kit. Pump your ammonia up then slowly wait for it to cycle
