Default Wild Ray Discussion

Came across this short clip.
Supposedly this ray is a Leopoldi? Or Henlei?
Anyway it looks more like Leopoldi but with yellow spots?

So.... Should Leopoldi be yellow or white spots?
Or does environment and food make the difference?
Many WC BDs too are more yellowish than super white spots.

Why not? It's a big ray... Is there a standard as to how far apart P13 spots should be?

There are breeders with WC giant Leopoldi whereby spots have shrunk so small till whole ray is practically spotless.

Classic p13 may have lesser spots but the relative disrance versus the size of the spots is impt. If this is not wc, i will thought it mixed with motoro.
Since wc, then it has to be henlei.

Just a thought, could the yellowish spots in WC rays be due to stress? Because from what i observe from other people's rays, when wc bringing home, their spots are slightly yellowish, but after in our tanks, it becomes white.

Or it could also be due to our waters?

Just sharing my newbie thoughts

Wc = cfm guaranteed chopped pure breed???????

I hv heard tat fishermen while fishing fir BD, when they hooked a hybrid or other rays, they will give that poor ray a stab or just cut the line. Thus, the perception tat only BD in a certain area or any other pure rays only in a certain area is not true.

We dont see such wc hybrid rays cos they cannot be exported.

Well there is always chance it is a Henlei.

but there are Henlei with white spots. Would those then considered to be pure Henlei?

Rays are not known to change spots color so fast. But rather a gradual thing if some factors are affecting a potential spot color change. This ray just got pulled out of the river. It's likely it's spots as you see is as is.

I feel Henlei spots are whiter than p13.
And henlei seems to have a circumference around the spots. The circumference seems to me to be yellowish or brownish. That is, from my observations.
