You can refer to the following link:

http://www.eheim.asia/_download/broc...28_prof_GB.pdf

The specific item you need replacement is P/N 7343150. This item costs around $24 at C328.

Default Eheim 2028

You could try changing the O-ring, which in my opinion is unnecessary.

Simply put, when the canister is operating, the pressure within the canister is at its minimum, as water is flowing from the tank through the inlet of the canister and flowing out of the canister and back into the tank with the help of the canister pump.

When you shut off the power, the pressure within the canister suddenly build-up by the back-flow of water through both the inlet and outlet pipings of the canister. If the square rubber seal is still in good condition, it will be able to withstand this back-flow pressure within the canister, and will prevent water from leaking.

I hope you understand by now. I owned these Eheim canisters, 2228, 2026, 2028, 2075, and used to change the square rubber seal sometime every 2-3 years.

The only thing which I do not like about the 2026 or 2028 is you need to change the O-ring about every 3 year +/- 1 year. Maybe this is one of the reason why Eheim discontinue this model.

However the 22xx series is robust. My 2213 & 2217 which had used for more than 4 years without any part change.
