I think the standard test kits will tell you about the various parameters of your water, and will let you determine if the water is suitable for the type of fish you are keeping. PH, ammonia level, nitrite, nitrate. Temperature, and TDS meters for some sensitive fauna.

Thank you for you reply. However I was hoping to find something like automatic digital stuff where we can read the parameters easily..... Cheers

The closest thing I can think of is the Seneye.
By default it logs temperature every hour and publishes results to a website that you can view wherever you are. With the Seneye Plus slides (they last a month each) it can monitor PH and Ammonia and will send you alerts via email. I must say that there are some debates as to how accurate the unit is. http://www.seneye.com/ |

Before you go to such an extreme step, what fishes/lifestock are you keeping?

I am keeping 1 aro, 1 fei feng, 1 tiger in 1 tank. 8 parrot, 2 Luohan in another tank. All my tanks undersized as small house. Work 15 hrs so not much time but in love with watching them swim here swim there. Because of undersized tank and lack of time. Worry about water condition. Thank you everyone

What's your tank size and whats your feeding regime and water change regime? What do you feed your fishes?
What kind of filter do you use? Is it sump or overhead filter? What kind of medias do you use? |

Let's start with the built in tank, 2.5ft by 1ft by 1.5ft. Using tetra external filter 1200 housing 2 Louhan, 8 parrot and 1 sucker fish. Media as per stock.....
