this is the culprit!! put what fish also attack!!!



poor thing looks like i going to seperate or give away soon before it is gone again ...

Very nice piece!
Get a bigger tank for it with more hideouts & tankmates.

Fronts can grow up to 12inch or maybe more

try removing e attacker to a temp holding tank n let the injured front recover n get use to the tank n environment first.thn u add e fierce one back in (:

The substrate thickness of your tank is fine. Frontosa like rocky caves so it is definitely a gd option. But your tank may hv space constraint.
First thing to ease aggression in your tank and to save the poor front which look v stressed, is to get a couple more fronts.
And if u hv not decided on the type of rocks yet, i suggest creating 1 or 2 small common canopy cave with 2-way entrances...
so no 1 front can own the cave.
Herewith, attached sample pics.

Very nice rock work I love it, but you'll have headache if you ever decide to remove certain fish or carcass or when your altos decides to spawn in the caves.
