Chan CS's profile in his Military Career is indeed impressive, and he was awarded a President's Scholarship and SAF Overseas Scholarship to study in the University of Cambridge.....all the investment $$$ planted into him is for a reason. I mean Tan CJ, Lawrence Wong and Sim Ann is same generation with Chan CS, sorry never state clearly. |

If LHL retires after next GE, Tharman has a good chance... his brief bio:
- currently 57yrs old - DPM, Finance Minister, Chairman of MAS - IMF committee If Tharman is only considered for PM after 1 more term by LHL, he will likely be 64yrs old, indeed considered too old to serve out 2 terms given the current top office holder's younger age globally. Thus, his only chance at PM post is, if LHL retires after this term (seems unlikely). Tharman is by far, the only PAP minister I respect. Possibly, he'll be a future candidate for President than... so far, this is the only guy I will spend time listening to, as he is composed when he speaks, and very easy to understand as he speaks with a good ascent and not a snob like Vivian Bala, nor a ear sore like some chinese ascent speaker. |

Personally i think Tan Chuan Jin got more style, respect & aura of future PM. That CCS looks too boyish.

I think Tharman is smart, articulate and holds his words well.
