I last time ever paid $13k for a very nice female hybrid but it turn out to be a flop so I decided to given this a miss.. later on I realise that it's depend on which Thai breeder the fish come from..

when these fake BD grow up the hobbyist would know if it is worth keeping =)

like me i cant afford BDs so i buy rays within my limited budget =)

Guess 1 cent goods for 1 cent fish also apply to rays too

Bro Tay and azon, 2 of you have vast experiences in breeding rays. it will be really beneficial to the hobbyists here , in your humble experiences, whats the factors to judge a real and how to spot a fake bd?

Honestly there is no way to spot a fake BD. Once u hit 3rd 4th generation with careful selective crossing, no one can spot the diff. I believe even their off springs may not give them away as throw out may be minimal. Come back to old issue, are those wc BDs completely pure, are BDs themselves pure???? No one can give us a firm ans.

As such, see gd quality rays pay gd price, lousy rays pay peanuts and not buy cos they are name BDs. BTW, Azon & myself will not help pple to identify gene of rays as it will not benefit us but bring us trouble only. I believe the mkt is efficient, if buyers dont buy based on name, I believe sellers wont sell based on name but based on quality.

Whether BD are pure or not I believe some local BD breeders have shown us the answer with the quality of their bd pup pictures posted on AF =)

Most importantly why do we only see people show case those fake BD once and after that no more posting when they are at adult size? Think we all have the answers =)
