I have bad experience for GEX soil....PH buffering for very short period only.
If not in a rush...can try using ADA soil. As for how to add other thing. U can search the forum many bros have posted step by step. |

You might want to try using ADA New Soil. Im using it for my 2ft tank and everything works fine.

What is your tank dimension, my 3x1.5x1.5 is using 4 x packet benibachi soil.

That will depends on how thick you wants your soil. Can see my sticky in the invert forum on the soil calculation.
