Default How to DIY a sump for my 3ft tank?

my tank is 3 ft x1.25 and i wish to DIY a sump? anyone able to help me?

I'm also looking for idea to diy a overflow box using bin. Anyone to share? To be used for a 12ft by 6ft cement pond.

you will need something bigger then a bin for a overflow chamber for a pond that size try using a 200L blue barrel to hold the media and pump water to the top of the barrel and let it gravity do its work of flowing down the barrel thru media and out at the bottom of the barrel into the pond, a disadvantage is that it is rather unsightly.
