Are there 2 companies besides ofo? I see Yellow and Orange color bikes at my area. Well some idiots really anyhow parked one. But the rate really low compare to those park rental at $10 an hour, these only $0.50 per 15 mins.

Currently, there are three companies, Mobike, Ofo, and Obike. Obike is local startup company but Temasek holding invests in Mobike. Support local?

LTA did proposed and worked on a bike sharing project. However, with a team of very narrow and traditional minded set ppl. Fortunately, project was killed before wasting too much TAX payer money.

Mobike and Ofo are very successful in many cities. Ofo kick start in Singapore with free ride and no deposit. They put up a sum of money to gain market share here quickly. Obike is more society responsible company, planning on something similar but working closely with TCs.

Joke: OFO (Out-Of-Order).

Good idea, but enforcement is done by who? The bikes can be anywhere and the enforcers can't be at the site the moment the uncivilised act is done to the rental bikes. Those that can be caught are those who stole the whole bike and used as theirs by respray the colour.

What about those who stole the seats, handle, solar panels etc? I had seen a few bikes being strips of these parts at ulu place like Changi beach, spc near Miramar hotel, etc. I had seen a Karang guni man loading 2bikes onto his lorry to sell them off as scrap iron.

I feel this scheme may not last long unless they do something about it.
