Default 2 weeks travel

Guys,

What do you do with your arowana when you are away for 2 weeks?
No one at home. What preparation work will you recommend?

Thanks

Really no one... Family vacation.
1)one 6ft with one cross back, two angel, a few cichlids and two clown loaches.
2)one 4ft with one Red, eight clown loaches and 3 red hooks.

I have bought 2 big auto feeder with dry prawns loaded.
Testing how it works..

IMHO, a few WC before you travel is essential.
But worried your Aro might attack tank mates if he is hungry which happen to mine. But every Aro is different.

I have just did wc yesterday and will do again on Thursday before my travel.
I am not worried about my cross back as he likes dry prawn which the auto feeder will do its work. My concern is the aro jump and knock down the auto feeder and it will be a disaster!

Second concern is with my red as he do not really like dry prawns. Bought a packet if feeder and hope that it will last. Another thing is the left over prawn shells that will be suck up to the OHF and my room will smell fishy after 2 weeks!

I am the worry too much type.
Probably because I have experience piping leaking water when I left for work and the whole house flooded.
Second time, power trip, my all time fav red died. I was only away half a day...

Nowadays, if I cant ensure that my pets are taken care of, I wont even plan of traveling.
Feeding them is not priority although two weeks is abit long.
Power failure, choke filter, tank leak and unforeseen sickness/death and fouling of water is my main concern.

Least you can do is get someone to come over and make sure everything is in place.

2 weeks without food is fine.
I'm more concern about power failure.

If aro is 10" abv, I will actually not feed.
Aro at times not feeling good will not feed. Unless ur rest of the fishes confirm will snatch food.
But for me 2 weeks without food ok one.
Not sure for the rest.

No feed = less poo = less water bad, no need WC

Of coz hungry fish is a angry fish. So depends ur aro fierce or not.

U can put up a ip cam. So u can log in to see if tank go power tRip or not.
Cam loss power = power trip. Else u sure can see the as long as u got wifi.

Leave a key to a relative, then in case still can activate when necessary.

I will not on watever not necessary, as I gonna light ballast trip whole house.
Only water pump for filtration will do. Cover must secure.

Add a ACDc pump , 2 outlets so can drive 2 tanks in low mode w air stone....or a sponge filter each.
Can last abt 2-3 days air supply. So ur help can come even a day late , should be helpful as not all pple can rescue ur fish on immediate call.

Dun use timer feeder, as when aro learn where food source sure try to bang it down.
I ever put bullfrog container in top of tank, aro can see frog, try to bang cover, heng i was beside tank, so I rEmove.

Aro 10" abv, can go a month no eat one.
