Thanx for sharing bro. Am considering setting up a shrimp room at home thus these does come in handy. Can use them as reference
I am just trying to figure out if I should buy individual canister for each tank, or what other filter system should I use. Should I be getting custom tank and stand or buy 2nd hand sets, etc... |

actually not difficult to setup.
the problem most of us have is getting the permit from home minister. being able to have a dedicated room using aircon will save from having to buy chillers too. on the running cost issue, if the shrimps breed well... definitely will become a no issue |

Utility bill for running 24hrs inverter aircon is cheaper than running 3 chillers (or even as little as 2 chillers). My total utility bill for single person staying, aircon bedroom every night, including sanitry and refuse is abt $55/mth.
That means only abt $44 for water and electricity. Water taking up abt $14 (round figure) and $30 for electricity, which includes kettle (once a week), washing machine (twice monthly), fridge, tv (1.5hrs a day), vacuum (weekly), etc, and aircon. Think my aircon is only taking about $20 a mth max. Thus my guess is, if I were to run air-condition (inverter) for a shrimp room, 24/7 at 26 degrees, it shdn't cost me more than $50. Each chiller for a 4ft tank is expected to chalk up abt $20-30 in utilities. That is why I am seriously considering a shrimp room. It makes economical sense to run a shrimp room if I keep about 3 x 4ft tanks or more. Thus I need advice from our guru |
