Now Malaysia stocks chioning. Would like to hear your opinions in Malaysian stock direction if:

1. BN wins by large majority
2. BN loses more seats or states, but still wins

Malaysia's 13th general election promises to be especially lively in seven politically “hot” states that have recorded the highest number of new voters.
The electorate in Selangor, Johor, Perak, Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan and Kedah each grew by at least 150,000 voters, all of whom signed up after the 2008 polls.
Of the seven, Selangor recorded the biggest jump with the number of new voters rising 29.06 per cent – from 1,565,494 in 2008 to 2,020,500 in the third quarter of last year.
They are part of the more than 2.4 million new voters nationwide who have registered since the last general election, an increase EC chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof described as “unprecedented”.
“The rate of increase in voters has never been this high, meaning that our efforts to boost the electorate are working,” he added.
Abdul Aziz said the number of voters for the coming election would most likely be about 13.3 million.
The total would be higher if polling were to be held near the end of June when those who had registered in the first quarter of this year would also be included in the roll, he added.
“We are finalising the 2012 fourth quarter electoral roll to be gazetted this month, and which will contain voter applications up to December 31 last year,” he said.
“Those who register as new voters between January 1 and March 31 will only be able to cast their ballots at the next general election if polling is held after the roll is next updated sometime in May.”
Abdul Aziz expects voter turnout to be between 70 per cent and 75 per cent, just as in past general elections.
The electorate totalled 10.9 million during the 2008 polls and grew slowly to 11.1 million in 2010 before rising sharply by about 700,000 each year. This was when the EC allowed political parties to register voters.
Deputy EC chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said: “The big increase is a positive development for Malaysia as it shows growing awareness that voting is an important responsibility all eligible citizens should exercise.”
Wan Ahmad acknowledged that appointing political party representatives as assistant voter registrars had helped bolster the electorate.
The EC declined to say how many new voters each party had registered since 2008 although it is understood that both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat have been actively registering new voters.

Seems the rate of new citizens more in Malaysia than Singapore. It's anybody guess how it will dictate the result...

GE13: Those who registered this year cannot vote

PETALING JAYA: Only the 13.3 million Malaysians who registered as voters before Dec 31 last year are eligible to cast their ballots in this general election.

Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said those who applied to be voters from Jan 1 this year would not be able to vote this time around as there was not enough time to process their names for inclusion in the electoral roll that is updated once every three months.

Wan Ahmad said that the commission's special meeting tomorrow to decide on nomination and polling dates would also confirm that the 2012 fourth quarter electoral roll will be used for GE13.

The roll was gazetted on Feb 22 this year and contains the names of 13,291,385 voters who registered by Dec 31 last year.

“This matter has been finalised. Only those who registered by the end of last year will be able to vote in the coming polls,” Wan Ahmad said.

He said the roll would be verified during the EC special meeting before it is gazetted for use the following day.

The electoral roll will, however, be updated to remove the names of those who have died in recent months before it is gazetted, said Wan Ahmad.

The general election will see an unprecedented jump of 2.4 million new voters, about a third of whom will be casting their ballots for the first time.

Selangor recorded the biggest increase in new voters with the electorate growing by 486,214 voters or 31% from 1,565,494 in 2008 to 2,051,708 as of Dec 31 last year.

Normally stocks will go up on the way to elections. Once elections over people will immediately take profit.

BN been in power has generally created, imo a political stable environment for business. So if BN wins again, that may be positive for stocks. Only my opinion.

BN is very desperate to win and bribing voters with goodies blatantly.

It is so obvious that by winning the elections, BN can continue to steal the Rakyat's money as they did for so many years. If the Malaysians are stupid to allow BN to win, they can only blame themselves for the next 5 years.

One bro here is telling me not to compare Malaysia's situation with that of Singapore as we are different. He says I am using Malaysia's example as a bogeyman when all I mentioned was that Malaysia's GE13 experience will be an example to Singapore if and when the opposition wins and take over the government.
