There is no standard for nice , pretty or handsome. Most important they like the fish. I bought a few thai side view ranchu from C328 and GnG. but my wife feel $2 feeder goldfish is nicer than my ranchu.. so how ? maybe u want to educate pple what to look for in a good standard ranchu

Just a statement about "nice" fish. The meaning "nice" is very subjective and much related to a persons emotional feel of an object or place.

Therefore I feel that moomoo's "right taste" need not neccessary require him to have alot of money.

Sure, having lots of money can buy you expensive fish, it can also buy you a $300.00 "RANCHUN" if you get my drift.

u ve drifted away from my pt.....

i m in no position to educate anyone. someone has pointed to a pictorial website for the beginner.

i beg to differ on "There is no standard for nice " for ranchu- the FISH - there is a standard. agree on "pretty and handsome" though.

pick a stray dog and compared to a competition dog. i cannot stop u for calling the stray dog Nice and Cute perhaps it has been yr pet for a long time and there is strong feeling for it that u think it is above all other dogs. at least one cannot be blind that there is a judging criteria for dog. and that this is termed as "out of the league" and non-competition dog.

Here, pls note that i question Not the owner but the bystanders who are neutral and got no emotion feeling attached.

i see bystander telling owner it is nice but got wonderful looking gallery inside and mentioned he won want to buy it although it is nice. i presume the owner sincerely wanted to ask for opinion of his beloved fish and wanted to get feedback be it good or bad. Not patronising statement.

my REAL question is : do the bystander know the "NICE" ranchu standard and benchmark.
wife factor , emotion and feeling aside unless u are the fish owner.
