After much consultation with the Jap judges, the measurement for each competing category has been set forth as follows:

Junior (11 cm & below)
Tosai (11.1 - 14 cm)
Nisai (14.1 - 16 cm)
Oya (16.1 cm & above)

Measurement is based from mouth to tail tip of Ranchu.

This is in conjunction with our tropical climate where Ranchu’s growth is at its most significant, particularly during their first year; coupled with the Jap judges’ recognition of the risen grooming standard of our local hobbyists

*The measurement for each category above will take precedence over the ASRS’ going fwd.

Exclamation

To all participants,

Thank you so much for the overwhelming response.
Reckoned we’re about 4 days from the competition during which, it has been quite awhile since some of you have submitted your entry forms. As such, we would really appreciate if you could take the trouble to measure your participating Ranchu(s) again and take note of the change(s) in their length.

Kindly inform the administrator of the change(s) in the length of your participating Ranchu(s) during bench-in, so as to facilitate the categorisation of your Ranchu in accordance to its length on that day.

*Measurement is based from tip-to-tip of Ranchu

The above is subject to the judges’ discretion, whom will be making the final round of assessment before commencement of judging.

We look forward to the meeting and sharing with like-minded hobbyists during the show. As there will also be a “Q&A” session, so don’t be shy and have an enjoyable day!
