Hi all...
The link below are the Brouchures of a event next week held in Narita Koi Farm. There are plenty of good Jumbo Tosai, and selling price are from S$3k onwards. You will notice that some of them, the pattern are quite Ugly.... so next time you see a S$200-S$300 Jumbo tosai with nicer pattern, do you think that is possible? You may want to really ask, is that a Tosai or Nisai and some is actually Sansai! This applied to the so-called Nisai koi also, whereby a 3-4yrs old koi being classified as Nisai. http://www.narita-koi.com/event/catalog/Tento6_Oya.pdf http://www.narita-koi.com/event/cata...5_Dainichi.pdf http://www.narita-koi.com/event/cata...4_Hoshikin.pdf http://www.narita-koi.com/event/cata...to3_Marudo.pdf http://www.narita-koi.com/event/cata..._Taniguchi.pdf http://www.narita-koi.com/event/cata...nto2_Sakai.pdf all brouchures (130mb) http://www.narita-koi.com/event/cata...ngEventALL.pdf Last edited by nutx; 17-04-2011 at 09:02 PM. |

Thanks bro Poh Beng for this discussion..
I'm still not sure with the term "Jumbo Tosai". Are they offsprings of a Jumbo Parent (hence Jumbo Tosai) or Bigger pieces of a spawn(also Jumbo Tosai)? I must point out a v unique piece that I spotted.. Look at Dainichi Pg 5, 2nd Row, 2nd column, so funny man! Btw, with JK and now Nippon bringing in some really nice Jumbo Tosais onto our shores, if budget permits, we will be able to get such Jumbo Tosais in Singapore! |

My understanding of "JUMBO Tosai" refering to the particular koi being Tosai, and it is the bigger ones among the same batch. You may want to check with the dealers that you are familiar with on the definition. This is just like the term "Tategoi", which suppose to be "Future Good koi", but many dealers seem to be using it for any "Current Ugly koi". The other common features when Jap Breeder sell a koi as Jumbo Tosai, is that the koi is usually Guarantee as Female. It also meant that the koi has a good potential (in term of body structure) to reach Jumbo size (>80cm) given a good environment. However, these are just some form of marketing gimmick and each individual can just give their own definition. I shall say that all dealers in Singapore has "Jumbo Tosai" for sale in their farm. You can try your luck on keeping some and you will be able to tell in 1-2 yrs time, whether the koi is indeed a female Jumbo potential koi, or just a koi that stop at 65cm at 4yrs old or male koi. |

The Oya Sanke look impressive. Didn't try before on this farm. I chose 15. If you go the new malaysia forum, I think there are some more recommendation on these koi by the Malaysia dealer. (btw, Lee bringing this farm sanke in coming shipment too) I've put in 2 others for try under Sakai. 83 and 96. 83, just big (good chance to get, bec it is ugly in the photo). 96, I like the sumi pattern. You can choose the same no too, if you like, as there will be likely a draw on actual day when there are more than 1 name. Last year, I also try a few, but didn't get any. Normally, I will not go for higher value as this is from photo, the quality of skin, kiwa and shashi can be quite misleading at times. Cheers! Poh Beng |
