All fishes have been with me for close to a year. I didn't add in any or change anything except for the introduction of some new media couple of weeks ago. I've taken some photo regarding some symptoms which I've observed.

1.) Curved head

2.) Redness at the end of the tail

3.) Redness at this part of the body

Didn't take any photo of my deceased teugelsi, however symptoms were almost similar between both cases.

Last week, my teugelsi bichir passed away. It was doing fine the last few days, i have always check on my fishes everyday during feeding. I realised its appetite was lower the last few days but i brush it off because it was still constantly looking for food and having some bite on the mp which i fed it. However last week i realised it somehow lost its balance to swimming and turned upside down in the tank and suddenly became very lethargic. I took it out and place it in a hospital tank but it left me within hours.

Now, i am having a albino senegalus which is facing the same issue as well, lost its balance to swim and remain upside down on the floor of the tank.

Other tank mates are IT,NTT, parrot fish and 2 delhezi, all are doing well. I have some snails inside to counter algae as well.

Does anyone encounter this before? Is it a sign of internal bacteria infection? I hope to find some answers because everything seem to happen so sudden without any clear symptoms.

Thanks in advance for any help!
You are right...this is due to internal bacteria...bichirs is very prone to this especially upper jaw...usually it is better to do regular deworming...when lethargic symptoms is obvious it would be a challenge to cure...

Before you do anything, check water parameters.

Below are the medications for general deworming process for bichirs.

EIHO Parzi Gold
Baxter Acriflavine
EIHO General Aid
EIHO Metro Cure

All can be added together and safe for bichirs. Done it myself lots of times.

Hi good people,

Would like to ask if any of you guys experience a tank wipeout before and what do you do after that.

I had a moke recently and kept it in a tank together with an rainbow wolffish aka ery ery which I had for 5 months.

The moke has not been eating since I acquired for 3 days whenever I dropped in a carnivour pellet.

When I decided to throw in hikari frozen blood worm hoping to entice it to eat and a bit of black water essence... I discovered both my moke and ery ery died the next morning!!!

Sigh, I dunno if it is the blackwater or if the FBW that cause death.

I am thinking of scrubbing the whole tank now because I dunno how many hours have pass since I discovered them dead and removed them.
And followed by cycling again with active carbon this time.

Wondering if any of good sir experienced something similar before and advise on the next course of action.
