Aro stopped eating for 1 month
Hi all,
I need your advice. My Hi-back golden has stopped eating for the past 1 month. He was eating very well, switching between superworms, small frogs and shrimps. Then slowly he stopped taking frogs, then stopped superworms and the last thing he ate was shrimps, which he also stopped taking. Its been a month now and I am kind of worried. I usually change water once a week and the last time I checked the PH (2 days ago) was 7.1. He has a IT and 2 tin foil barbs as his tankmate. Hoping to seek your kind advice on the next step I should take. I tried some medicine which is a chemical that turns the water green and also added mineral salt to see if it will boost its appetite. However, as of now nothing seems to work and my aro went from bulky to thin. |

Faced with this problem before too. Do more frequent water changes and try to feed cricket for now. It worked for me and I hope it works with you as well. Try not to overfeed too.

Check your water parameters.
Consistent small water changes can whip up appetite. Do you have any tankmates for him to have food compeitition? |

When your hbrtg not eating for 1 month, no need to add any medication or salt.
Suggest you do daily 20% wc for 1st 1 whole week, then on alternate days 20% wc for 2nd 1 whole week follow by twice weekly 20% wc will slowly help boost up the appetite. But you must do feeding slowly with little by little. |

Aro sometimes fast for no apparent reason. My Red occasionally will aso go on fasting for 2 to 3 mths a time. Just maintain your water perimeter and the water will take care of your fish.
just my 2 cents |

Bro, no worries.. Previously my arro starve for 6mths when I switch him back from superworms to mp, as he was addicted. As long as your water perimeters are good, no worries, he will whack back...very common issues.
