We struggle to ID hoplias species especially from different river,generally we found that intermedius got lighter yellow and shorter and rounder head.There is some research on the counting of pores but more for semi adult fish then visible.

Never want to toy with that set of teeth lo....
yep...very aggressive during feeding...will wag its tail.....not like the H.sp waiting to be fed......just checked...feeders still there... |
