Hi bro..
this is my main concern... cos goldfish r coldwater fish..

currently my 2ft goldfish tank water is around 26-28....using a top OHF pump..

another tank with a submerged pump has got temperature reading from 30-31...Hot ah! ..but then that is for PNT housing.. high temp not a issue ..

The alternative is to put the inlet of your cannister into the pump area of the IOS then you no need a pump( which heat up the water ), and the water entering your cannister will be super clean. So you can convert your cannister to pure bio-filtration and you no need to clean it for a much longer time

Underflow can remove the poo at the bottom. So there is the trade off lor

No really lah, it depends on how much heat the motor gives out lor. A 3 feet the volume is quite large, so normally the effect is minimal. Best thing is to use a thermometer to meansure when it's on and when it's off ( make sure the water has time to cool down after you switch off, before you meansure ). See whats the different then decide.

using your fingers to check the temp in a water is a quick guage, after keeping fish for a while n having many tanks wif diff setup, u gain experience as to whether it is too hot for GFish

i didnt really try that.
but the gold fish came to my tank, looks like not as active as in the shop, why?
and, beside cotton wool, what can i put into my OHF DOLPHIN 808?
Only 24 hrs, my water become cloudy with juz 2 x 6 inches ranchus, why (havent even feed them yet)?
