Joe Gomez injury update
Jürgen Klopp confirmed Joe Gomez suffered an ankle injury during Liverpool's 3-1 win at Burnley on Wednesday. The No.12 was stretchered off midway through the first half at Turf Moor and the Reds will have to assess the seriousness of the issue in the coming days. “It was his ankle,” the manager said at his post-match press conference. “Joe is injured and probably not only a little bit. We have to see, we don’t know in the moment. We sent him home.” |

Trent's Watford free-kick wins LFC Goal of the Month
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brilliant free-kick against Watford has been voted Liverpool’s November Goal of the Month. The right-back’s fourth strike for the Reds was an unstoppable set-piece curled into the top corner at Vicarage Road during a 3-0 victory. And Alexander-Arnold’s effort took the majority of votes in our poll on Liverpoolfc.com. The goals from Xherdan Shaqiri and Mohamed Salah against Fulham finished second and third respectively. Salah took fourth with his close-range finish past Watford and Adam Lewis’ goal against Red Star Belgrade U19s in the UEFA Youth League took fifth spot.

Liverpool make new Roberto Firmino song - and it's superb
What Jurgen Klopp wants, Jurgen Klopp gets.
Speaking last season, the Liverpool boss demanded supporters craft a new, inventive song for Roberto Firmino. “Do we already have a Bobby Firmino song?" he asked. "But it’s only Bobby Firmino, right? That’s not a song, hello? “So I think he really deserves a song. I order a song for Bobby.” Six months later, Turf Moor was rocking to the tune of the new Firmino song after his goal helped the Reds to a 3-1 victory. Based on a tune sung by River Plate fans in Argentina, the lyrics are: There’s something that the Kop want you to know, The best in the world his name is Bobby Firmino, Our number nine Give him the ball and he’ll score every time Si senor Give the ball to Bobby and he will score

'The real reason' behind Klopp and Dyche's heated exchange
Jurgen Klopp and Burnley manager Sean Dyche were involved in a heated exchange at full-time at Turf Moor last night after Liverpool’s 3-1 win. National newspapers are suggesting it was because the Burnley boss was angry at his opponent’s behaviour throughout the match. The Reds did things the hard way at Turf Moor , coming from behind to win 3-1, thanks to goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri. But manager Klopp became embroiled in a post-game spat with opposite number Sean Dyche as the two sides left the field at the end of the game. Speaking after the clash, Dyche was asked about the incident but sarcastically replied: “I just said: ‘well done’.” But according to the Mirror, the real reason Dyche was unhappy with Klopp was down to the German constantly voicing his complaints to fourth official Mike Dean. But Klopp made no attempt to hide his frustration with what he perceived as excessive physicality from Burnley, believing referee Stuart Atwell should have done more to protect his side. “I said to the referee after the first sliding tackle [made] over six or seven yards, when he got the ball and everyone liked it: ‘Please, tell them they cannot do that’”, said Klopp. “It wasn’t a foul but they cannot do that. It’s like bowling because then four or five times it happened. Joe is injured and probably not only a little bit. “Aggression is a part of football but be careful. Sliding over six or seven yards: these times are over. Usually someone will not let you do that. “We all want to win and you can choose different ways but someone needs to say: ‘Stop doing that’. Make two more steps and then you are in a normal challenge. “Don’t go five yards before you see the player when the grass is wet. It’s unlucky what happened to Joe but the referees have to make sure it doesn’t happen consistently. That’s not how it should be.” |
