No easy to maintain water perimeter for it.i prefer to keep it in marine setting.

I think they need a slightly alkaline pH of 8-8.5 and a low temperature of 23-26degree Celsius. This is what I read online about their habitat. Perhaps the only thing that's different is it can live in freshwater, provided the rest of the conditions are the same. I may be wrong bro, just a guess of mine.

Freshwater converts don't live long in freshwater. Hit the search function and u'll find out that none survived

kinda poor thing.. cos i saw some descriptions saying they are fully converted to freshwater and hence quite tempted to buy

but wouldnt wanna be rearing them in environment not suitable and ending up killing them

Fully converted doesn't mean will last... Fishes that are converted usually are fishes that spend the first years of life in brackish environment.

I think the only convert available to us that can survive is barramundi

cos KBL by its nature self can survive in brackish water in the wild?

even then i oso think twice before buying, some fishes are just not suitable for home aquarium??

... for such SW converted species, e.g. KBL & Grouper, try higher KH....

this was a tip shared by some lfs owners... pH can remain at slightly above 7.... add KH powder to our water (~pH6+)....
