There is a nicely renovated coffee shop opposite Shaw Tower serving toast bread and etc. The bread is different , thicker than the usual white bread.
Can see many olf staff in the cafe. Friends brought me there amny years ago.l am not sure is it renovated from a old coffee shop or not. But according to them,, is has long history and passed over the generation. |

Set lunches good. Try the set breakfast $4.60 Ah Kong Tradition when Chef Andrew is there around 10 am to 2-3 pm To me, BEST TOAST. Beats #1 ranked Ah Seng. Available from 7 am

Very sad to downgrade Joo Chiat Ah Kong Den to #2 and North Bridge Heap Seng Leong to #3.
New #1 for me. Past few months went to eat three times but found they always closed. Last time here was twenty plus years ago, sit at five foot way, noisy place full house with taxi uncles. Don't recall anything special, just convenient on way to SGH. Hated the heat and crowded kopitiam then. But actually shifted opposite. Today found it Cool AC, almost empty. Looks normal and not appetizing But one bite. Wow Wow Wow Best songzsssss at Chinatown red light street. Tong ah, must tong. Cannot anyhow spray. Saliva I mean.
