Ya.. Bro illumnae always compare this to ice cream and children. Give an ice cream to a child and he will chiong for it. Is ice cream good for the child? No.

Thanks

My biggest thing is food and water changes. I try to do at least 50% every other day. Even if it's before I go to bed it gets done.
Food I keep animal proteins to a min or none at all. Their diet is mostly fresh vegetables with some NLS mega fish once/twice a week.
I find the most important thing is to always have food in their tank.
I always have carrots or white potato in there for them.

Hiding spots and dim lighting also helps. They'll be out a lot more if lighting is minimal.

I'm also a big fan of stripping my filters at least once a month.

Can I know if the L27 goldline is also quite territorial and aggresive like its cousin, the L27a 'watermelon' plecos? Just wanna know before I buy it and put it in my tank and all hell breaks loose...

CMIMW,the term 'watermelon' is usually used for L330?
If that's the case, I have past experiences with my old L330 which seems to be pushy towards the others.

For my case with my ex 8" L330 & 6"+ goldline, 330 was in my tank earlier before I add in the goldline.
Goldline took over as alpha within days, so I think goldline are generally more territorial.
I might be wrong as it's my 1 & only experience...

Both are docile you just have to provide space.

I've kept over 10x 330 from 8" and up with not even a torn fin.
they shared the tank with the large goldline I have and there's was never an issue.

Now my big goldline shares the tank with panaque half and some less than half the size and he never touches them.
The smaller fish will hang on him. He only gives a boot here and there when food is in play.

If the fish can always see each other you'll have issues.

There's also the ones who are just nasty and no matter what they'll attack others.
Ive never had one of those.

Sorry my bad. Meant L330 watermelon. Have to consider then as my tank only 4ft and notice my L330 always go for the food first and chase the other ones away including my bigger and also quite 'fierce' L25.
