Ryukin Spawned.
Hi Guys,
Woke up this morning to see a few of their eggs scattered on the tank floor. So,i quickly get a basin and took out the breeding pair. Hand spawned the ryukins in the basin and hope for it to hatch. If it hatch, it's a bonus to me as i get a feel of how raising GF fries are like and if it doesn't,at least i know which one of them are the breeding pair and therefore will try it again in the future. Attached are the video of the process of squeezing the female eggs out and the male sperms. Red/White is the female while the full red is male. Do let me know if my method of hand spawning is wrong or other way to improvise it as this was my first attempt at it. Hope to learn more from others here.

Hi Betta zoid, congrats...hehe...a bt different way from how I do hand spawning...I will just gently squeeze the goldifsh belly and the eggs and sperm will come out automatically...I did not do the same method as yours.

It's my first time trying it,so abit awkward. But i think they are not injured cause they are actively swimming infront of me now. You spawned ryukins, too? |

I dont specifically spawn ryukins...any goldfish can be handspawned. Even common goldfish can be handspawn.
They wont be injured...dont squeeze too hard...gentle squeeze and you will see lots of eggs and lots of sperm released. Good luck in hatching your eggs...you should be able to see fertlised black eggs tmrw. Kindly update us. |

Thanks all for the well wishes.
woke up just now to check on the eggs and found out that the water is very murky and it smells bad. So,I conclude that the eggs has gone bad. Sad to say, my first attempt failed. however,I am now starting to condition the pair for breeding to attempt another round of spawning them. |
