Party at Jon's place tomorrow so we can view the sexy new tank! Sounds like you're going to have to buy a lot of new fauna and flora for that tank size. Are you going to do DSM first to cycle the tank and get the foreground filled?

Just read about your new tank from a different section of the forums. Looks like going to be very sparse to no plants with those stingrays in there =\
Oh well ...still party at Jon's place tomorrow! |

Came back from a 2 week long holiday in Japan to find my planted tank in shambles. Managed to collect Blue Green Algae, Green Dust Algae, Green Hair Algae, Brown Hair Algae, Black Beard Algae and ramshorn and pond snail infestations all in 1 tank. Nearly ripped my hair out in frustration. Worst of all was that my normal Hairgrass, JHG , P. Helferi and Staurogyne were all already flourishing and firmly rooted and shooting runners all over the place. *scream*
Spent 3hrs bent over the 1.5ft-er picking out as much algae and snails as I could. Eventually gave up on it and decided to tear down the scape. Just finished re-scaping the new layout. Will do water change and filter management tomorrow before posting up some pics of the new look. |

How the tank looks after the re-scape.
Can see some Green Dust Algae forming again. *sigh* |

And another update. Added in some colour into the scape. Some of the JHG have begun to spread. Battled some Black Brush Algae on the Staurogyne with Excel overdoses for the last week. Looks like I've gotten over the worst of it. Any comments welcome
