Hi bro,

Have you used this calculator to check the amount of substrate you need yet? Not sure how is the aqua concept is packed but if its the same as ADA then i'm afraid 5 packs wont be enough for stem plants

http://www.cau-aqua.net/index.php?op...pper&Itemid=43

The last time i used 6 big packs and one small pack of ADA substrate for my 422 and its just barely enough. Hope its of some help. Cheers

the aqua concept soil should be the same as ADA.. seems like i need to get some lapis sand to fill the bottom.. maybe 20kg + 4packs of concept soil..

edit : or many lava rocks instead to improve bacteria grow under substrate..

Hmm.. If i remember the last time some people came up with an alternative to ada powersand. You might want to check it out and do the same with lava rocks.

If you are going to plant heavily from the start why not get some base fertiliser as the first layer then lava rocks then top up with the soil? Dont think lapis sand mix with soil is such a good idea.

yes.. i did check it out, from what i understand powersand is just mainly pumice stones with peat and nutrients.. What you say is true.. i might get more lava rocks and skip the lapis sand..

thanks.

You mentioned about HC growing under low light condition, hence maybe it may be due to the strong surrounding light that the tank is located.

updates!

my list of equipments :

tank : 120x60x60
filtration : Hagen Fluval Fx5(2300l/hr) + SunSun 3000l/hr wavemaker.
Lighting : Aquazonic 54x4 T5HO
Substrate : 45L of AquaticStyle Concept soil
Co2 system : 5L tank + Solenoid via Glass diffuser(placed under wavemaker)
Fertilizer : LUSHgro AQUA macro and micro.

Since LUSHgro aqua macro dosn't contain PO4, bought my own dry form of KH2PO4.

This 2 pics should be my final placement, need some advice.

This placement with the left wood included

This placement without the left wood, feels abit empty.. hmm...
