Your tank may be a bit too small to keep shrimp.

Best to fit a sponge on the hang on filter inlet so that shrimplets wont get sucked in.

Is 1ft tank sufficient? If can, i will revamp to a new tank... As i cant go too big as it will b in my office...

1ft should be alright. Just make sure that the water conditions don't fluctuate too much. Since its in your office I think it shouldn't. Do monitor the shrimp population as well. If the shrimps do well, they will over populate your tank very easily since its rather small.
