To me the turning point, when shit started brewing, came when CPF was liberalised for housing which unfortunately coincided with pre-97 hongky exodus with some passing thru here.

But I don't agree with your premise that life was better back then for SG, pre-GCT SG was highly dependent on manufacturing and it's strategic defence was shaky.

Most countries are being affected by the new economic order, hence we got bogeymen in most of these countries.
Disenchantment and anger get vented with the 1%ers or new immigrants in many countries : less here but only because we got FTs here to blame. FTs become the scapegoats.

Not serious but doc told her to come back (before the new appt system starts) for nose allergic medicine and review the need to see specialist in hospital. She don't want her to miss sch on weekdays as she is taking her o level this year,and try to see doc on Sat.
