I think the Chinese breeders are more successful producing the short tail Ryukin and we see more of these in the last 2 years. Me too love the short tail Ryukin.

Yah, definitely the short tail one are nicer. Used to keep both types few years back before starting with Ranchu, the tail of the long tail one will droop when they are stationary.

Oh, not nice ah? The owner told me they were from Hong Kong, he expressed sadly that GF business was so bad that he didn't even manage to sell any from this batch of ranchu and ryukins, since they were in 3 weeks ago. I also found out that when I was there for 30 mins, I was the only one paying attention to the GF ! most of the visitors only interested in LH. May be that is why most importer not dare to bring in high quality one, scare that stocks kana stuck just like 35A !
Anyway, comparing to Mainland nowaday, their Ryukins are better in term of quality (of cause price is higher.) Also visited Mainland last Sunday, was told that hugh shipment of GFs coming in next month, so just wait and see, hopefully can get cheap and quality ranchus or ryukins.

Anyway, people in this business already see sign of the LH market bursting. Alot already started to dump the LH at a discount. Next, you will expect the LH shops letting go at cheap price and this is an opportunity for those thinking of go into this business.
