This sanke i like very much also, it struck me as a Matsunosuke bloodline koi, given that slim fit body from Marie-france. Sumi in all the right places... I'd be looking out for her progress.

The 1st sanke, i tot it was showa at 1st look cos of the sumi spots on head, mouth & nose. Maybe got some showa heritage??

Bro...see this progress pic of the sanke...
U can see the sumi appear quite a lot in the month of Jul 2007, after it arrive in our water.
and the sumi on the face continue to surface.

this is the parent also.

wow, the 1st pic really very nice! It was so clean then!

Ya, i also find that our water tends to make sumi pop up.... the mother also got sumi on head, maybe in Japan it dun pop up so much???

I think the new trend of sanke, they have probably used showa line to intense the sumi (my guess), leading to sumi on head more common......or rather, the new culling process, do not cull those with sumi on head yet with good body, hence leading to more adult sanke with sumi on head going into the market.


our local water is claimed to be able to polish the sumi well, but not my pond!

Mine can,would you like to tranfer over,i make sure they are well polished from head to tail....
