Well said. Too much artificial colouring will also damage the liver.

Don't have to get confused, we are just learning through discussion.

Anyway, to be on the safe side, no matter where or who the fish comes from or from the same tank same source, it is VERY advisable to quarantine them. Quarantine is just a precaution of the cross contamination. Disease can spread through vapour too.

Trust me, I have experienced that before and I don't wish anybody suffers that too. If you are not very strong hearted towards discus, you might even want to give up.
True. I wanted to say colouring depends on "kungfu" but I guess it will be hard to explain .

Sorry if i am mis-leading. I am learning too. As in my previous thread, usually if you found those in LFS with red tail and fully pattern discus at small size are hormone fed. This is based on my experience over the years. I agreed that it depend on the skill of feeding hormone but I don't think those farmer that mass-produce discus will really care. For me I will never get such discus now as thru' experiences again, the color will start to fade within a month, their breeding capability are damage and easy death due to liver hardneing and liver detoxification as highlighted by bettadis.

Let's not go into that. You might need to hold a coffee session for that.

WoW! Congrats! Breeding in your 422 or separated in own tank already?

To determine a confrim pair, firstly, the eggs must be fertilised by the male and you must see wrigglers. Depends on the "quality of eggs and sperms" the wrigglers will attach to parents body or via artifical raising method via the latter is more for experinced breeders.

I ever experienced 2 females laying eggs.

oh.. Thanks for your info bro! they are in my 422 still.. suddenly today saw them cleaning that area and soon enough, started laying eggs... very exciting to watch though i have no intention to raise the young.. i doubt the young can survive with 50 other cardinals and lots of other cichlids around..
