Look like aeration bro..i guess.
Add on extra air bubbles for more aeration.

if they are not swimming around, there should be a problem! Unless they are waiting for you to feed but if you move to the other side you shld expect them to follow you...

Should be insufficient aeration, try to improve on that and see how.
It could be due to poor water condition too.

They're readily looking up to heaven, my guess, DO @ extremely low and the bio filtration is not functioning efficiently/cannot handle the overloading.

come to think about, me also had such experience with my group of Oscars back in 2004.

there were 6 of them, at least 11" each.

yes, the water parameters and aeration were definitely the cause.

the outcome: up heaven one by one within 2 days.
