i did notice crs will stop moving and die over the past 2 weeks. Went to the extreme during the past 2 weeks with only distilled water topup still no good. cherry, amano shrimp doing well for months. ammonium = 0 Nitrite = 0 Nitrate = 10-15 GH = 6 KH = 0 PH = 6.4 (when light and co2 is not switch on) PH = 6.0 (when light and co2 is active) Temperature = 26 Co2 = 2-3 bubble Soil = Gex Filter = Eheim Pro Plant = mini nana and mini fissiden Light = T5 x 2 tube should be 39watt each Light Hour = 6 hours Tank size = 3 x 1.5 x 2 Tank age = 6 month |

Your mini nana and fissiden will strive even without co2 injection. Noticed that there is a difference of 0.4 ph when you inject co2 with light on and off. Maybe what you can do is try not to inject co2 and monitor the ph value. GH try to get to 5 or below.

i have been reading that there are lots of success with gh above 6 and slight ph change does not matter.
i am also puzzle and trying to figure out what cause my gh increase to 6. my tap water gh is 3. currently i am suspecting mosura product or driftwood. but my driftwood have soak in water for 2 weeks before going to my shrimp tank. no coral chip or gh/ph buffer in my shrimp tank since setup. yesterday went to lfs and manage to consult the uncle. he also agree that my parameters post no risk. really scratch head. |

What mosura product did you dose??
Old sea mud is for depleted mineral (might althought i don't add maybe once a month) Mineral Plus is for use to raise GH. (i adjust my aged RO water only never dose into tank) Tds up is for you to add the metal or mineral missing in water. (same as mineral plus) All above maybe raise GH especially Mineral Plus if everytime you change water you add it is likely going to raise. |
