The different types of crays, if you want to know the whole tree, this site has very good breakdown of different breeds and where are they located tolweb.org. I've always use this as a reference to the sub-groupings since they have pictures. Have fun browsing. |

wow.....chillers are darn expensive and bulky too......................
guess its really for the hardcore keepers/breeders dont think i will be able to get a chiller and bigger tank till my house is ready.....damn really wish my orange C.SP can survive....... have anyone tried using ice cubes? it will cause inconsistency in the water temperature..........will increase the stress level in the tank.......haizzz cannot work.... any other ideas? |

never put ice cube directly into the tank instead place them inside a bottle
you can also invest in a fan but water will evaporate much faster i am using mr aqua fan + bottle ice(occasionally) for my crs tank temperature drop from 29 to 26 thanks |

I think if you have your tank in some quiet ventilated corner, it won't hit 30degC even during these warm days. My tank has been constantly at 28degC, maybe having fan would bring it down just a little. Erm....I was only quoting the factsheets on some sites about their habitat temperature (so don't take me too seriously on the temperature affecting their livelyhood, but could just be one possibility).

Where you get your fan? how much? i think fan will be the most feasible way as it saves on electricity. mine small tank so if using chiller it will be on most of the time bah.... |

with the evolving technology, i guess the web has more data (useful and junk) than libraries, I doubt you will be able to find much except for archived magazines (something I do go for at the library)
