Sump Media for 5ft Tank ( Mr Aqua Cr vs Bio Homme)
Hi All Sifu's
i am new to this forum, this is my first thread hope you all dun mind my poor presentation. Recently, i am going to re-set my sump tank for my 5 x 2 x 2.5 tank. New sump tank design will be almost same with N30 sump tank design, but did do some modification to suit my tank stand. Basically, it is a 4ft tank and distribute into 1 small compartment, and the rest will be 4 equal sizes. What i am planning to do is: 1st Compartments (6" width) = Fill up with K1 2nd Compartments = Recycle wool (Dry Filter), sera wool and bio wool. 3rd Compartments = 40L of Mr Aqua CR ( M & S sizes Mixed) 4th Compartments = 6Kg of Dymax Biolite & 2kg of Momotaro 5th Compartments = 4Kg of Glafoam , 1 no. of Hydra 40 and Dymax 5000 (going to replace into Rio 20hf) And will fill up with bioball at my main tank triangular overflow. Now i was thinking whether do i need to get another 5kg of Biohomme plus add into this system? Or the above media already sufficient for my tank size? Current available standby media can add on is 3kg of aqua clay, 4 kg of normal volca rock. The live stock in my main tank include 20 pcs Bichir in various size (10"-17"), 1 - 11" kaloi, 2 - 8" pbs, 1 - 12" armatus, 2 - 5" tigers, 1 15" Gar Hope can get some advise from you all. If anything wrong please shoot 9 9 me . Thanks in advance. |

So far your set up seems fine bro. But I would prefer to switch the 1st compartment to the wool for mechanical filtration and the 2nd compartment to the K1 medias.
