First day after harvest no good.......got a few defective eggs....I think some eggs got culled. Look at picture. Got pimple and also got air eggs. Only the stronger ones survive.

Update for Day 17. Link is below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayMt4RX7cBU The frys have stablise at this stage. Getting bigger everyday. There is a fry with a crooked tail and deform lower jaw. Lower jaw cannot close. The rest of the brood seems to be getting along rather well. Quality of the egg sacks have improved lots. Almost no more visible signs of the pimple or air bubble. Father aro, aka. Big Goldie is also doing well. He is one of the five "Gold Head" in the pond. He is also the biggest in terms of size in this pond, big and long but not fat. Will post picture/Video of Big Goldie sometime in the future. Question for you. "What type of food (in your "valued" experience") to feed the brooders to improve the quality of eggs?" Do give your reasons please......if possible |

Personally I feel that the flow are too strong for these fragile little fries in your last video shown. Is it necessary to have so strong wave? Possible to cushion it a little? Just a newbie thot.

Do elaborate more please. I notice that both your comments are on the same point. In the spirit to understand and discover more about fry husbandry, could you share your experience please

I know nothing abt nursing fries.
Just my personal feel that the current is too strong for those little fries. It seems very stressful for them being move and hitting one another. I am so worry that it may dislocate from it's egg sag. I understand the important of supplying fresh aired water into the glass container where they grow. But..... Just my thot may be it is fine. Seeking expert advice. |
