Well, you can see that PNT pix is much sharper than the rest.

That explained my point of higher shutter speed. Personally, shooting at 1/125 is the minimum.

Improvement but still 2 basic problems. At least I think you understand how to use the M mode liao.
  1. Shutter speed too slow. Unless you have super steady hands (which I doubt), you will get handshake. This is basic and will apply to all your other photographic interests, not just the aquatic ones.
I guess you do not have much choice here since you are using existing tank lights. 1/60 is probably the slowest I will go with your lens. Try also shooting in RAW and use DPP to pull up underexposed shots. You will amplify the noise too, but you get about 1 stop more from your picture.
    .
  2. Distortion from the tank glass because you shot the subject at an angle. Try shooting parallel against the glass. Not from top looking down.

The bubbles everywhere didn't help either.

Ooo! If your is not photoshop CS3, I don't think it can open the RAW file since the older version does not support 450D.

Only thing is that you will have one more step of converting to JPEG for web viewing. But you get way more flexibility with exposure and colour adjustment.

450D's RAW is not supported by CS2 I think.
